Gustav Winter regained interest in Jandía, in the spring of 1946, after five years of absence, he began to maintain an intense correspondence with the managers or representatives of the Dehesa de Jandía S. Gustav Winter was not a Nazi, he was not affiliated with the Nationalist German Workers Party, this has been corroborated by consulting the Bundesarchiv Berlin. Contrary to what some legends say, he not only was not a soldier, but he did not even do military service, since he left Germany in 1913 when he was just 20 years old, one before the outbreak of World War I.
